About Lauryn Koeppel
Get to know Lauryn Koeppel
In fall 2021, Lauryn will be a third year undergraduate studying viola performance and music education at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Lauryn is a graduate of Frontier High School in Hamburg, NY. She began the viola in 4th grade through the music program at Frontier. In high school, Lauryn studied viola with Val Heywood, former principal violist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
At Frontier High School, Lauryn was the principal violist of the Symphonic Orchestra, performing as soloist in 2019, as well as performing in the pit orchestra. She served as orchestra librarian and Vice President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Outside of school, Lauryn was principal violist of the Southtowns Youth Orchestra, performing as soloist in 2019. She played with the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra and toured Europe with the orchestra in 2018. In addition, Lauryn has performed in NYSSMA All-State Orchestras, Area All-State and ECMEA county orchestras, seated principal violist on several occasions. Over the recent summers, she has participated in the Bravo International Chamber Music Workshop and will serve as an intern this summer. At CCM, Lauryn has been a member of the Concert Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. Additionally, she enjoys performing for weddings and at nursing homes.
Lauryn maintained a private studio of viola students throughout high school and is excited to start teaching again! Outside of music, Lauryn loves traveling, biking, swimming, baking and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys volunteering in the community and loves children.
