Teaching Experience:
After graduating from Appalachian State University, Libby began her music teaching career in the Hickory area teaching Kindermusik for ages newborn - 7 years. She taught elementary music for ages prekindergarten - 5th grade in NC Public Schools for 15 years, children’s choirs for various ages and directed a 4th and 5th grade chorus for 10 years while teaching in Burke County Schools.
Teaching Philosophy:
To inspire a life long love of music in my students by creating a positive learning environment and encouraging creativity at every level.

Get to know Libby Teague
Libby Teague has taught piano in the Hickory area for more than 20 years. She teaches a traditional method incorporating music theory, sight-reading, ear training, improvisation and technique into lessons. Students learn music from various genres and styles, and self-discipline through setting a consistent practice routine. Libby strives to inspire a love of music in her students by providing a positive learning environment and engaging, creative activities.
