Get to know Lilah Knox
Lilah Mittelstaedt Knox received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa where she studied with Arne Sorensen. During her baccalaureate program, she studied piano at the Summer Music Institute, Interlochen, Michigan, served as accompanist and piano teacher at the Summer Music Camps, and later received a performance certificate from the International Chamber Music Institute at the Hochschulde fuer Musik in Munich, Germany. A member of Mu PHi Epsilon, she received the Outstanding Senior Award. She received a Master of Music degree in piano pedagogy from Temple University where she studied with Harvey Wedeen. She also studied accompanying and chamber music with Lambert Orkis. During her Temple University studies, she was a piano instruction fellow teaching secondary piano to music majors and piano to non music majors. Mrs. Knox also earned a Master of Science degree in library and information studies from Drexel University. During her 22-year tenure as part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Library staff, she was enlisted to perform piano at evening events. In addition to teaching piano in her home studio and Music & Arts, she is currently employed by Library Services Group as Regional Manager managing staff in over 20 law libraries and is the company’s liaison in Wilmington, DE. Mrs. Knox performs with the Covenant Fellowship Chorale, Glen Mills, PA several events per year and serves the group as Music Director.
