      Performance Experience: I have been performing since I was in the sixth grade at Rollings Middle school of the Arts. Since then, I performed with the Fort Dorchester High School ensembles, performed on multiple instruments and voice in Newberry College ensembles, and have represented Newberry College in a statewide honors ensemble three times. Since graduation(2021), I continue to perform at local churches, private concerts, and with The Carolina Winds(2024-present).
      Teaching Experience: I have been teaching privately since 2017. I began teaching lessons while I was in college in Newberry, SC. I judged Trumpet and French Horn auditions for the Newberry County Honor band, and have worked with several band and choir programs throughout the state of South Carolina. These include: Fort Dorchester High School, Mid-Carolina Middle school, Mid-Carolina High School, Newberry Middle School, Newberry High School, Saluda High School, Barnwell High School, and Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.
      Teaching Philosophy: Music provides the opportunity to help students develop into responsible members of society using creativity, expression, collaboration, discipline, and problem solving.

      Get to know Lilly Tague

      Hello, and welcome! My name is Lilly Tague, I teach Trumpet, Voice, French Horn, and Piano. Music Education is a protected part of each child's education. That being said, every child has the right to learn music. Music provides the opportunity to help students develop into responsible members of society using creativity, expression, collaboration, discipline, and problem solving.


      I first began studying Trumpet in sixth-grade band. During high school I performed with Coastal Surge Drum and Bugle Corps(2014), and the SC Region 4 Honor Band(2015-2016). I also won consecutive Superiors for both Ensemble and Solo performances in Solo and Ensemble(2011-2016). I began studying voice in the sixth-grade as well, at Rollings Middle School of the arts (2009-2012), and later at Fort Dorchester High School (2012-2016)

      I then attended Newberry College which provided me with lots of opportunities to perform and improve my playing. Throughout college I performed with the Newberry College Jazz Combo(2016), Newberry College Jazz Band featuring Delfeayo Marsalis(2017), Newberry College Singers(2017), Newberry College Chamber Orchestra(2017-2020), Newberry College Brass Ensemble(2017-2020), Newberry College Wind Ensemble(2016-2021), and the Newberry College Scarlet Spirit Marching Band(2016-2020). I also performed three times with the SCMEA Intercollegiate Honor Band(2018-2020).

      Post undergrad, I perform regularly at private concerts, at several local churches, and with The Carolina Winds(2024-present).

      I have performed under the direction of Mrs. Pamela Brunson, Mr. David Richardson, Mrs. Susan Bocook, Mr. Daniel Neikirk, Mr. Joe Meshach, Mr. Jed Thomas, Dr. Douglas Presley, Dr. Cynthia Johnston-Turner, Dr. Jerry Gatch, Mr. David Santiago, Dr. Patrick Casey, Mr. Chris Imhoff, Dr. Chris Sheppard, Dr. Robert Reynolds, Dr. Jack Stamp, and Mr. Tim Franklin.

      I have had the opportunity to study Trumpet with Mr. Jed Thomas at Fort Dorchester High School, Mr. Christopher Imhoff at Newberry College, Dr. Tony Roebuck at Newberry College, and Dr. Payden Shelton at the University of Utah. I also studied Voice with Mrs. Madeline Beitel at Newberry College, Allison Ramirez at Newberry College, and Amy Billings in Summerville, SC. I studied Piano with Ms. Wanda Neese at Newberry College and French Horn with Mr. Chris Imhoff at Newberry College as well.
