About Linda Verzosa

Hello, I’m Linda Verzosa! Many students call me Miss Linda or Mrs. V. for obvious reasons. I have been a student of music since elementary school, starting piano lessons at the age of 7! I grew up playing clarinet in the band and singing in the chorus through high school and college. I studied voice, piano and all other instruments throughout college, receiving a Bachelor’s in Music Education with voice as my primary study. My motto is “if you can talk, you can sing!” and I have found, through my teaching of voice and piano for 45 years, that saying to be true. I have also taught chorus and band for many years and I can teach the woodwind instruments as well as brass instruments. I love working with a student who is anxious to learn an instrument and love it when I see the light bulb go on as they learn!

I had the privilege of singing as a soloist and chorus member with the Nova Chamber Singers in Houston, Texas from 1975 to 1980 before moving to the Tampa Bay Area.  I have sung with Toast of Tampa Show Chorus, an internationally competitive chorus, in the Tampa area for 30 years and have sung competitively in Florida with multiple quartets, winning fourth place and the Platinum awards in competition. I am currently singing with a barbershop, comedy quartet called “Attitunes”.  I am also the current director for Southern Company Chorus which was awarded “Most Improved Chorus” and I received the “Most Improved Director” in 2019. To me, music is a way for students to strengthen their academics, learn to perform, and give them relaxation from stress in their lives.
