About Link Rossano
Get to know Link Rossano
Link Rossano has an extensive list of experience with both teaching and performing music, including volunteer work teaching students of all ages as well as performing in various ensembles for artists like Michael Gayle and Lisa Vroman. Recently, he performed music from LI-based composer Leonard Lehrman, premiering Two Romanian Songs.
Primarily a flutist, he began playing in 2008. Since then, he has honed his skills in flute and expanded his expertise to include piccolo, alto saxophone, and clarinet.
Link has played for numerous musical theatre shows including Sweeney Todd and Phantom of the Opera. His experience in teaching music began with volunteer music programs in which he taught small classes of students of various ages how to play various instruments. The program, hosted by Island Trees School District, also included numerous ensembles in which Link both performed and showed leadership in.
He has been involved with LIU Post since 2015, when he began taking lessons with Dr. Susan Deaver. He has performed in LIU Post’s Tilles Band Festival numerous times and graduated from the university in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music.
Link graduated from Farmingdale State College in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Geographic Information Systems, and currently makes music in a Long Island-based band called The Going Rate. As the band’s Treasurer and Horn Captain, he co-writes horn parts for the group and earns the band its reputation for having a tight, well-rehearsed horn section.
