Lloyd Chisholm’s musical story started in the Baltimore-Washington DC area, where he was born, grew up and started a career which in time carried him to many concerts, festivals, and Televised performances all over the World, During this outstanding journey, Lloyd found the opportunity to study and or play with Jazz legends Art Farmer, Barry Harris, Dizzy Gillespie, which expanded his musical vision by learning from these masters. He has developed on his “Hard-Bop Style”roots while working with: Nat Adderley, Stanley Turrentine, Kenny Drew Jr., Curtis Fuller and Idress Sulieman, among others, for over 30 years.
He has recorded popular Jazz albums Internationally, his last 'From The Moon" is still available on Amazon.com., iTunes etc.
Lloyd has earned quite a reputation as a Jazz Educator aswell. He designed the 2 year Course" Techniques of Improvisation, BeBop" for the Hartford Conservatory in CT. He wrote the Syllabus, all Study Materials and Texts for this Course aswell. He also was an Artist in Residence at Bilgi University in Istanbul as part of the only 4 year Jazz Degree program in Turkey at that time.
The fact that Mr Chisholm has former students playing or teaching in many prestigious Musical Organisations all over the World, says much about his teaching prowess.
