Education: On the musical side Luke learned classical guitar under Frank Wallace and on the educational side he obtained a B.S in Math Education from Clearwater Christian College

Performance Experience: Luke has performed solo classical guitar at weddings, church services, art galleries, guitar societies, and school competitions. He has also performed with church bands and various choirs with classical guitar, electric guitar, and vocals.

Teaching Experience: Luke learned he love to teach in high school when he worked as a snowboard instructor. He went on to teach math at public schools, private schools, and as a private tutor. In 2017 he switched over to teaching private guitar lessons and in 2022 joined Music & Arts as one of their guitar instructors.

Teaching Philosophy: Luke wants his students to be able to pursue their own musical ambitions, whatever style that may be. He believes the best way to that end is to learn to be a musician first, so he places a high value on learning and practicing the basics, both with and without the guitar.

Get to know Luke Berwick

Luke is an experienced educator in various fields, including sports, academics, and music. He started learning classical guitar

with Frank Wallace around the year 2000. Around the same time he joined the high school choir, and those two influences

have been important parts of his life since then. In fact, these two factors helped fill important gaps: While classical guitar is often

very precise about every little detail, it doesn't focus on group performance. Likewise, choir singers have to learn to listen to other

parts and fit into the bigger picture of the song, but singers can get through choir without learning how to read or understand music fluently.

Having both of these worlds collide gave Luke a deeper understanding and appreciation for music.
