Luke Sheffe
Music Teacher, Expert
Location: Exton, PA
Speaks: English
Instructs: Bass Guitar, Drums, Music Theory, Piano, Viola, Voice
Education: I went to Carlisle High School I went to West Chester University for Piano Performance
Performance Experience: I performed piano at many different churches, youth groups, and coffeeshops. I played piano for many friend's singing performances. I also performed piano in many West Chester University Jazz Combos and Jazz Big Bands. I also played piano at parties and weddings. I played bass drums, snare drums, and tenor drums in high-level Marching Band and Indoor Drum Line competitions. I performed in the percussion sections for high-level Symphony Orchestras, Concert Bands, Choir, and Jazz Bands.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching piano, voice, and drums since I was in high school. I taught piano to friends and family. I taught the younger kids in my marching band how to play drums and that was significant. At that time I also had kids that I helped outside of class for music theory and music technology. In college, I became a music theory and piano tutor for a number of students. Then I began teaching at the West Chester Music Academy. Now I am teaching here and at another private piano studio.
Teaching Philosophy: I would like my student's rate of learning a new song to slowly increase. Whether it be the student is getting more fluent at reading sheet music, or the student can listen to songs and find them on piano. Students should work on sight-reading, technique, and the songs they are playing. Doing any homework will be optional, but reccomended.
