About Manuel Reyes

Hello! My name is Manny I currently teach trumpet at Music & Arts. I picked up the trumpet the second I started high school  and after that the rest was history. I grew up in a small town called North Arlington, so you could imagine when I picked up the trumpet it started to get very noisy in the area. I've always enjoyed listening to classical music thanks to my grandfather who would listen to a lot of classical piano, but there was something that caught my ears once I heard one of my favorite trumpet solos from Mahler's Symphony no. 5.

I am currently attending Montclair State University for my B.A degree in Music Education. But I have also taught in a few different school's for their marching band program. I've been playing trumpet for about 8 years and counting, but I have also marched in Drum Corps for the Hawthorne Caballeros.

When it came down to the decision of wanting to teach I was actually inspired by my high school band director. He was able to make music enjoyable for the class that he would teach, he was always pushing his students to strive for success but also made playing and preforming music just as enjoyable. i found that I wanted to give that same energy of pushing for success and enjoyability in preforming music to the same students that I get to teach.
