Location: Miami, FL
Education: I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy from Cedarville University (2014-2018) and Ohio University (2018-2020). I was trained to teach students of all ages, as individuals and in group classes, as well as to perform artistically and with authenticity to the score.
Performance Experience: Recitals: I have given degree recitals throughout my collegiate career, including performances in two departmental recitals at Ohio University (International Week, 2019; Hommage a Debussy, 2018) and 9 general recitals at Cedarville University.
Collaborative Performances: I accompanied the Choral Union at Ohio University (2020) as well as singers and instrumentalists (2014-2020). I played as part of a pit orchestra for the musicals Little Shop of Horrors) and Oklahoma! (2012-2014).
Teaching Experience: 2021: I am pleased to be teaching piano lessons at Music & Arts: West Miami!
2018-2020: I taught group piano classes to undergraduate music majors as part of my graduate assistantship at Ohio University. I also taught private lessons at Athens Community Music School.
2016-2018: I taught private music lessons to beginner and intermediate level students. I co-taught group classes to young students alongside my colleagues, and prepared my students for adjudicated events.
Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to help my students play with confidence, understand their music, and develop healthy habits. This includes learning to set goals and meet them, to manage their time well in order to complete their tasks, and to believe that they can create something beautiful.
