Education: Bachelor of Industrial Design - Auburn University. Graduated the U.S. Army School of Music Basic Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Course, Advanced NCO Course, Army Instructor School.
Performance Experience: 26 years as an Military Musician performing for the general public in the Continental U.S., Hawaii, throughout Europe, South Korea, China, and the Middle East. Active in local bands for over 30 years.
Teaching Experience: Selected as the Guitar Instructor at the U.S. Army School of Music 2013-2018, instructor for individual and group classes. Private teacher for 20 years.
Teaching Philosophy: I want to make music fun and enjoyable while still providing proper instruction and theory relevant to student goals.
Get to know Mark Valentino
Mark is a dedicated, experienced and passionate professional who loves to share knowledge about music and the guitar. He’s a working guitarist experienced in pop, rock, jazz, r&b and country. As an instructor he’s taught in individual and group settings to adults and children.
His professional music career started in the U.S. Army as a guitarist and percussionist. For 26 years in the U.S. Army he performed all over Europe, South Korea, China, Hawaii and the Continental United States. He also performed for deployed troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and Macedonia. His experience culminated in being chosen as an instructor for U.S. Army bands where he taught individual music lessons and coached ensembles.
Currently he teaches over 40 students per week and performs with local bands at weddings, corporate events, festivals and church services.
