A native of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Staples is a retired music educator with a wide range of musical experiences ranging from individual to classroom instruction in the performance arts to community engagement and education activities with a regional orchestra. Her skills in these areas deepen her interest and commitment to sharing the sense of accomplishment and joy that playing a musical instrument and involvement in the performance arts can bring to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. She views the opportunity to engage students in exploring the world of music as a life-changing adventure for both instructor and student.
