Get to know Martheine Ludwig
Martheine started learning to play the violin at age 10. She went on to be concertmaster of the Winfield High School orchestra, performed in the district and state orchestras and was even one of three people picked from the state of Kansas to perform with the National Orchestra in the spring of 1990, her senior year at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Martheine received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Wichita State University and went on to teach in the public schools in Texas after receiving her Texas teaching certificate as well as continuing teaching private lessons during that time. After studying classically for years, Martheine went on to start learning to play the Irish fiddle style of music.
Martheine loves to teach! She is currently working on writing a set of method companion books for violin and viola. She notice over the years she wrote out the same exercises for most of her students, which prompted her to start putting them into a book. She is working to have the first in the series complete by the end of 2021. Some of Martheine's other hobbies include sewing, cross-stitching, reading, writing, cooking, gardening, canning and spending time with friends and family.
