Get to know Mary Frank
A native of Seattle, Mary Frank learned the love of music surrounded by piano starting at 3 ½ from her piano teaching mother, then expanded into classical pedal harp at 12, then followed by a BA from the University of Washington in music. Her experiences include event, church and community freelance and, of course, her real love -- teaching. Highlights include: Seattle and Bellevue Philharmonic, Columbia Boys Choir, St. James Cathedral Choir and a Christmas album recording with the rock group Heart, as well as background on a Beach Boys album.Mary understands the rewards of awakening self-expression, discovery of past composers and entertaining friends with current pop hits. She is inspired to give gentle encouragement acquiring sight reading and basics. Her students gain a love of Mary’s laughter and enthusiasm. Mary takes students 4 years old and up, adapts to the busy demands of teen’s schedules and enjoys adult first-time lessons. She has experience with special needs individuals. With patience and kindness, she supports the goals of those learning and their parents. She has a firm respect for the power of music to heal and elevate mood, intellect and social skills. She tailors her lessons to bring the most to her student’s lives.As her clients have said, “you are a gem [with] teaching and the love that you share”, also “she [student] loves seeing you each week and we [parents] love that you make piano FUN!” She hopes to bring this delight to your life too.
