About Matt Darr

Matthew Darr is a freelance musician and educator, residing in Herndon, VA. He recently completed his master’s degree at the University of Delaware, studying trombone performance with Dr. Bruce Tychinski. A native of Stoystown, PA, Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Music Education. He has performed in several masterclasses for internationally acclaimed trombonists and has performance experience in nearly every indoor and outdoor band setting, brass consorts, as well as solo experience with piano/organ. He has performed with the Warren Philharmonic, The Heritage Players, Altoona Brass Collective, Keystone Chamber Winds, and various churches in the southwestern PA/Pittsburgh area. Matt performed a series of indoor and outdoor concerts with the University of Delaware Wind Ensemble in July 2022 in Prague, Czechia. Currently, he is affiliated with the Blue Diamond Brass Quintet.
