Location: Orchard Park, NY
Instructs: Cello, String Bass, Viola, Violin
Education: I am entering my senior year at the Crane School of Music, double majoring in Music Education and Viola Performance. I have played the violin for over 10 years, receiving private instruction from Dr. Lucyanne Gordon, and I have played the viola for 6 years, receiving private instruction from Valerie Heywood and Dr. Shelly Tramposh.
Performance Experience: Most recently, I have performed with the Crane Chamber and Symphony Orchestras, the Orchestra of Northern New York, and the Crane Opera Orchestra. This past school year, I was fortunate enough to perform chamber works by Brahms, Shostakovich, and Elgar, and 2 of my chamber groups were selected as winners of the Crane Chamber Music Competition. In the spring, I presented my Junior recital with works by Clarke, Meyer, and Fuchs.
Teaching Experience: I have taught violin, viola, cello and bass through the National String Project at the Crane School of Music, in addition to undergoing extensive coursework and field experience in string pedagogy.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe in helping each student fulfill their own unique goals as musicians. In order to help students become life-long musicians, I will do my best to help each student learn about the music that inspires them the most. I am particularly interested in playing and teaching repertoire by composers of underrepresented demographics. My lessons are a safe and welcoming space to learn about all kinds of music.
