About Matthew Burnett

Matthew has more than 50 years of experience as a pianist, performer, recording artist, producer, composer, touring musician, mentor, and teacher of music.
He received a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Marylhurst University in Oregon and spent 35 years working for the ballet as a technique classroom accompanist. His passion for the piano began at age 3 and he started his professional career at age 9 as a pianist for his mother's ballet academies, also in Oregon, USA, specializing in structured improvisation.
Raised between Oregon and a small working farm on the NE coast of Scotland music was always at the very forefront of his world;
coming from a long line of concert musicians and fine artists. His hobbies include computer gaming, building and fixing things, and creative cooking.
But teaching music is his first love!
