Get to know Matthew Kruft
Matt Kruft is a guitarist, producer, composer and educator from Baltimore, Maryland. Now based in New Orleans, he recently graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies. He has performed alongside jazz luminaries Danilo Perez, Rufus Reid, Kurt Elling, and Shannon Powell, in addition to many other greats in the New Orleans area. Matt has been featured as a soloist with Baltimore Center Stage and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He has over ten years teaching experience, and has had the opportunity to teach with jazz master Donald Harrison, Jr. through the Tipitina’s Foundation. You can find him featured prominently on original projects Atomic Jaguar, Medium Cheetah, and various recordings in the Baltimore/DC area.
Matt teaches electric and acoustic guitar in all styles, as well as electric bass, mandolin, ukulele and banjo. He also teaches music theory, ear training, and music production.
