Get to know Matt Roman
Matt Roman (a.k.a. Roman) is an ASCAP artist that has performed in the US, UK, and Europe. He studied jazz with Pat Martino and Tom Kozic, played bass for Chicago bluesman Bobby Radcliff, and performed with John Popper (Blues Traveler) and Charles Fambrough (Jazz Messengers.) He has opened for countless famous jazz, rock, and blues artists.
Roman went professional in 1996 with a notorious punk rock group, a tamer cover band Roman & The Heard, alternative rockers Glue Factory, and blues rockers Mad Dog & Blues Night Out, and Dutch's Basement Blues Band
Matt Roman teaches music, runs local jams, has won numerous local music awards, and organizes musical benefits for students. He was a Musical Director for the Upper Bucks Alliance for Creative Expression (UBACE,) a volunteer musical organization for kids in his local Bucks County, PA. Roman started UNCLE WAGON RECORDS with Daniel Diefenderfer to copyright and publish original material.
Roman officially appears on 6 full length recordings and many compilations. He has done some background work in TV and movies and music scores for independent film. He currently resides in Perkasie, PA and plays regularly in Philadelphia and NYC.
