Performance Experience: Rosen is active on the New York Tri-State Area freelance circuit, having played with Orchestra 201, The Doctor's Orchestra Society of Manhattan, Utopia Opera, New York Session Symphony, Hellenic Music Foundation, and more. He is a founding member of the New Westchester Symphony Orchestra.
Teaching Experience: Conducted Middle School Concert Band for 1 year, has taught brass privately for 7 years
Teaching Philosophy: Strong air control, posture, and embouchure positioning are the key fundamentals for all brass playing, and carry over to all aspects of life. Beyond that, every student learns differently, so instead of developing a standardized regimental approach, Rosen tailors his lessons to meet the demands of each student, and encourages them to think critically so they are not deterred or set back by any struggles.

Get to know Max Rosen

Max Rosen is a classically and jazz trained professional Hornist. He has played Horn for 16 years, and Trumpet for 10. He is also trained in Natural Horn, Wagner Tuba, Mellophone, Baritone Horn, Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba, Music Composition, conducting and audio engineering.

Rosen studied at Hoff Barthelson Music School under Karen Froehlich, Boston Conservatory under Eli Epstein and Shelagh Abate, and SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music under Peter Reit. He studied Jazz under Michael Goetz and Richard Morales.
