Education: Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Master of Science in Music Education.
Performance Experience: Growing up I played in the All County Orchestra, Intermediate All County and the Area All State Orchestras. When I graduated High School I joined the St. Thomas Orchestra in the summer time and played chamber music with collogues and former teachers of mine. After College I joined the Wood Stock Symphony Orchestra for a season. I then came back to the orchestra that I am currently in, the St. Thomas Orchestra.
Teaching Experience: I began private teaching when I was in 10th grade. I started my career in teaching as a High School Orchestra Director and then a 6-8 General Music Teacher. This is my third year as the Elementary Orchestra Teacher in New Rochelle.
I am able to prepare students for 2 concerts a year. This year I had approximately 30 students that I trained attend NYSSMA and they all scored 25 out of 28 and above! This is my third year here and I just can't say enough about how much I love it.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that all students can learn how to play an instrument. It just takes time and dedication to practicing the skills they learn. When they are set with a toolbox of skills for playing an instrument they can play just about anything. I am all about making learning an instrument a fun experience and for sure a memorable one!
