About Melissa Szymanski
Get to know Melissa Szymanski
Melissa has her BS in Music Education and BM in Clarinet Performance from UConn, as well as her Masters in Education from Walden University. She began teaching woodwinds privately in 2011, and has taught band in public schools since 2013. She most recently began teaching elementary instrumental music for Arlington Public Schools.
Melissa performed in a variety of ensembles in college, and most recently performed with the Capitol Symphonic Winds for several years, a community band out of the Hartt School Community Division.
“I personally believe all students have the ability to learn an instrument and enjoy playing music. I seek to find students interests and get to know the students in order to build a connection with them and learn the ways they learn best. Each student deserves the opportunity to learn an instrument in a comfortable and nurturing setting.”
