Teaching Philosophy: The role of the guitar teacher is not simply to teach the student how to play the guitar but to teach the student how to learn to play the guitar. The student's discovery of the instrument will then be as personal to them as the music they will make.
Get to know Michael Hardy
Born in Columbus, Ga, Michael learned to play popular music from his mother during his teen years. His enthusiasm for the guitar grew, and he became the first person to graduate with a degree in guitar performance from Columbus State University. He went on to earn his Master of Music degree from The University of Texas and a Graduate Performance Diploma from The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University. He was recently awarded his Doctorate from The Eastman School of Music.
