About Michael Long
Get to know Michael Long
Michael Long, a native of Cary, NC, earned a BM from UNC Chapel Hill, an MM from the University of New Mexico, and a DMA (doctorate with 3.9 GPA) from UNC Greensboro. Dr. Long is currently a professor at NC A&T State University where he teaches all low brass, music theory III & IV, and music appreciation in addition to coaching recitals and directing a brass ensemble. Michael has also taught supplemental trombone lessons for undergraduate and graduate students at UNCG and has served on committees for graduate students. Dr. Long has performed numerous times with the New Mexico Symphony and with various other professional and collegiate ensembles. He has also worked as the trombone lesson instructor for the UNCG Summer Music Camp for several summers. Michael is also a composer, and he is looking to get some of his music published in the near future.
