About Mike Chen

Mike Chen graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Music, another B.A. in History, and a Master’s in Teaching.  While at the UW, he participated in many ensembles including the University Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Baroque Ensemble, Jazz Band II, and the University Singers.

He’s taught band and orchestra for several schools and organizations, including: Tacoma Baptist Schools, Seattle Christian Schools, Eastside Enrichment at Maplewood Heights Elementary, Rainier Christian Schools, the Renton Youth Symphony, and the West Seattle Community Orchestras. 

In recent years, he’s played with Christ’s Church Orchestra in Federal Way, Jazz Night School in Seattle, as well as violin with the West Seattle Community Orchestra Symphony.
