Teaching Philosophy: Every student is unique and has their own individual relationship with music and how it's meant to be part of their lives. As a teacher, my job is to nurture that relationship by assesses a student’s needs, creating a game plan for how to achieve their goals, pass on my expertise and knowledge, and encourage them throughout the process. I value music as a form of joy and personal artistic expression as well as classical form and technique.
Get to know Natalie Rebecca Lovejoy
Natalie Rebecca Lovejoy is a pianist, vocalist, and composer. Before moving to Nashville, she spent seven years in New York where she had wrote and performed her music Lincoln Center, Abingdon Theater Company, 54 Below, The Wild Project, Raw Impressions Musical Theater Festival, The Flea Theatre, and The Gallery Players. Natalie studied classical voice at the Peabody Conservatory, and has performed regionally in musicals and vocal competitions in addition to performing as a singer/songwriter. She studied private piano for twelve years under the tutelage of an alumni of Oberlin Conservatory. Natalie has been teaching music since 2006, and before Music and Arts she taught at the Bergen Academy of Music and Art in Oradell, NJ, the El Paso Conservatory, and Corkan Middle School in Glen Burnie, MD. Education: New York University (Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition), The Catholic University of America (Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater), the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, and the Johnny Mercer Musical Theatre Project at Northwestern University.
