Hey, I'm Nick! I'm a percussion educator in the greater Philadelphia area. I graduated from West Chester University in winter 2019 with a bachelor of the arts music performance degree. While in college I studied classical percussion with Dr. Ralph Sorrentino and David Nelson. Additionally, I performed in various ensembles including wind symphony, several jazz combos and WCU incomparable golden rams marching band. During this time I also performed in drum and bugle corps and indoor percussion groups including Wilkes-barre Skyliners, Hawthorne Caballeros, imperial dynasty indoor percussion, and united percussion.
While I am new to the Music and Arts team, I have been playing drumset and percussion for 16 years and teaching for 4 years. During college I started teaching drumline and have worked with twin valley high school, Hempfield high school, Pottstown high school, Millersville University, and united percussion 2. After graduating college, I starting teaching drumset at a studio in Philadelphia called Rawk U and am currently still working there.
My teaching philosophy is based around the importance of good fundamentals. I find it best to provide a good balance between helping students achieve their personal goals and learn music they enjoy while building good technique, consistent timing, and developing music reading capabilities.
My favorite genres to play are progressive rock and metal but am eager to teach all genres including rock, pop, jazz, fusion, Latin, and so much more!
