Get to know Nick Zavala
Nicholas Zavala is an aspiring music educator who began studying music in 2007 at the age of 11. He first began playing the trumpet in elementary and middle school, then picked up the euphonium and trombone in high school. After high school, he studied both euphonium performance and trombone performance at Riverside City College from 2015-2018. He then went on to study music education at La Sierra University until his graduation in Spring 2021. Throughout his musical career, he has had the opportunity to perform in several different types of ensembles, including jazz band, wind ensemble, orchestra, marching band, and even choir. However, he is most fond of the opportunities he had to perform alongside industry professionals such as Bobby Shew, Alex Isles, and Dan Radlauer. Some of his favorite memories include performances in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Disneyland Main Street Parade, and the Reno Jazz Festival at the University of Nevada, Reno.
