About Pam Tichenor
Get to know Pam Tichenor
I am native to Massachusetts recently relocated to Tucson with my family. I have performed all over the East Coast and the Midwest, and I am excited to bring my talents to the Southwest.
I have worked with a variety of students, ranging in ages three to eighteen. I have taught many subjects but have primarily worked with drumline students. I marched with the DCI corps 7th Regiment from 2010-2012. During the 2010 and 2011 seasons I was on the drumline and in 2012 she played marimba. I was also a member of the nationally recognized UMass Drumline and studied privately with DCI Hall of Fame instructor Thom Hannum. I had the privilege of performing at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) with UMass.
I also have experience playing modern percussion and brass chamber music. I have performed with numerous percussion ensembles and brass ensembles. My brass chamber music experience even led me to performing Peter Tanner’s Concerto for Timpani and Brass. While at UMass Amherst I studied marimba solos with Ayano Kataoka.
When I am not playing music, I like to run canicross with my American Pit Bull Terrier mix, George.
