Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to give students a well rounded experience of music which they can apply to their personal lives. I believe music brings creativity and discipline to our lives, and makes order out of chaos, and it is an esential part of everyday life. When a student comes with a desire to play by ear, I also encourage them to learn the language of music (reading notes and music) as well. Likewise, if students learn notes, my goal is to get them to learn improvisational skills as well.
Get to know Paul
Paul has a Bachelor's degree in Sacred Music (Conducting) and Piano performance, as well as a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He as served as the Director of Music in several churches in Florida, Illinois, and North Carolina, and has taught applied piano, music theory and other various music courses at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, as well as Central Piedmont Comomunity College in Charlotte, NC. Paul has also taught music and private piano lessons to students 2nd grade through 12th grade at Lakeland Christian School, Lakeland, FL, and St. Paul Lutheran School in Lakeland, FL. Paul has kept a private music studio of piano students as well.
