Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is rooted in the conviction that music is a universal language that everyone can learn to speak. I believe in meeting students where they are, recognizing their unique backgrounds, abilities, and interests. From this starting point, I guide them through a journey of growth, not just in technical skill, but in self-expression and confidence.
Get to know Rach Moody
Born and raised in New York, I discovered my love for the saxophone in 5th grade and have been playing ever since. After graduating from Ithaca College with a bachelors in Music Education, where I mastered a variety of concert band instruments, I dedicated myself to teaching music in New York public schools, sharing my passion and nurturing young talent through elementary general music, middle school choir, and high school choir. In 2021, I brought my experience and enthusiasm to Virginia, where I currently teach at Fusion Academy in Leesburg, utilizing my other musical skills teaching subjects like drums, guitar, and recording arts. I strive to inspire my students with the same joy for music that has fueled my career for years.
