About Rachel Stansell

Get to know Rachel Stansell
Rachel was born and raised in Midland, TX. Her interest in music came from listening to her great grandmothers play the piano. She then enrolled in lessons at the age of seven. Her music teacher in 6th grade offered a strings class and she took interest in the violin, but after a year of playing violin she decided she wanted to play the Cello. The clarinet sparked her ear when the junior high band director came to her elementary school and demonstrated different wind instruments. After pleading to her mom to join band, she joined and fell in love with the clarinet. She decided in seventh grade she wanted to be a band director, and her mind hasn’t changed since.
Rachel is currently finishing her music education and clarinet performance degree from West Texas A&M. She hopes to earn a masters degree after graduating with her bachelors degree.
Rachel has served as Principal Clarinet in the Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Band at West Texas A&M University.
