      Get to know Reaiah Rutherford

Growing up in a family deeply connected to music, I was introduced to the violin at a young age, and it quickly became my passion. From classical to jazz, folk to contemporary, I've explored a wide range of musical styles and embraced the diverse repertoire of the violin.
Beginning my musical journey in the 3rd grade, I've had the privilege of performing with symphony orchestras, jamming with rock bands, and collaborating with various ensembles. I studied music at Yale University, with several orchestras, ensembles, and taking private lessons. From there, I attended college and earned my degrees at McDaniel College and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Throughout my journey, I found joy in teaching. I've had the pleasure of working with students of all ages, helping them fulfill their musical dreams. Whether it's teaching kids just starting their musical journey or adults returning to their lifelong passion, I strive to connect with each student on a personal level. My focus is on building strong foundations, refining technique, exploring solo repertoire, and honing performance skills.
