Get to know Rebecca Britten
Rebecca Britten is from Flower Mound, TX, and has been involved in music all her life. Her mom taught her to play the piano when she was very young. In fifth grade, she joined the school band as a trombonist, and in eighth grade, she began teaching herself to play the flute. In high school, she was heavily involved in the nationally renowned Marcus Band, where she placed into the TMEA All-State Band three times and twice earned the distinction of Outstanding Soloist in LISD's solo and ensemble contest. In college, she played in the Texas A&M Wind Ensemble and trombone choir as well as played piano at her church.
Since graduating from college, Rebecca has performed with many community ensembles and taught private trombone and flute lessons. In 2019, she passed the TExES music educator exam and worked as an assistant band director in the 2019-2020 school year, where she taught beginner band and worked as a field tech for the high school marching band. In 2020, she began playing in virtual orchestras, recording on trombone, flute, and French horn. She also manages her own YouTube channel, where she arranges, records, and mixes her own music. Currently, Rebecca is pursuing a certificate in Arts Management with the goal of managing her own private lesson studio.
