Get to know Ricardo
Born in
Montevideo, Uruguay, Ricardo began his studies at the National school of
Lyrical arts ( Escuela Nacional de Arte Lirico). Under the tutelage of his
first voice teacher, Amelia Veiga, he joined the TADEO group (Opera and
Zarzuela Workshop).With this group he traveled around Uruguay to share the most
emblematic Zarzuela repertoire scenes in critical socio-economic public schools.
He performed ,among others, the roles of Javier ( from “Luisa Fernanda”),
Leandro/Chinchorro ( From “La Tabernera Del Puerto”), Ricardo ( “La del Manojo
de Rosas” ) y Juan Luis (“ El huesped Sevillano”).
In 2018
he was selected among others singers around the world to represent his country
in the “Concurso Internacional de Canto Lirico de la ciudad de Trujillo, Peru”(
International competition of classical singing of the city of Trujillo, Peru.)
In 2019
he was accepted at the Manhattan School of Music ,under the tutelage of his
teacher, Ruth Golden.
He had
the chance to perform with the Manhattan School of Music, among other titles;
Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms (choir)
under the conduction of George Manahan, Opera Theatre Scenes under the
conduction of Catherine Malfitano and the role of Monostatos and the first
armored man in “Die zauberflöte” , the Senior Opera Theatre production at the
Manhattan School of Music.
Graduated
from the Manhattan School of Music, Ricardo is now expanding his teaching
horizons , understanding that music is one of the most important and life
changing things that exists.
