I started playing as a freshman in Marymount High School in 1964. I took lessons at Wallace’s Music
Emporium in Wilkes Barre, PA. I was playing every Friday and Saturday night onboard the Hudson River
Cruise in NYC from June of 1965 to August of 1967 as rhythm guitarist for The Nighthawks.
I joined the US Navy on August 29 1967 having recently received my draft notice from Uncle Sam. While
I was in the service I had a band on every ship and shore station I served from 01/1969 to 07/1983.
While I was in the Navy I taught several people to play guitar. In 1980 I was a guitar instructor for

Blues bands in California, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Illinois, and Texas.
I taught guitar to beginner, intermediate and advanced students privately, in El Paso, Texas from
October 2008 to July of 2020.
In the last five years I had between 20 to 50 students at any one time. Mostly Intermediate players, a
few advanced and some beginners.
