Get to know Roberta Stein
Roberta Stein, known by all her students and their families as Miss Roberta, has teaching experience in music and art with students of all ages. She has been a Jewish music educator at several synagogues as well as the general music teacher for elementary schools in both Alexandria and Fairfax County public schools in Virginia. In Maryland, Virginia, Alaska and New Mexico she taught private voice and piano; class vocal music classes, music history, theory and analysis; Music in Action (Orff-Schulwerk) and Musical Theater/Intro to Opera at several private arts schools, as well as having a specialized license in pre-school and family music education. She created and directed four award winning performing groups. She has served as choir director Cantorial Soloist for Synagogue Choirs in Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Alaska and New Mexico. She is an experiential educator with a master’s degree in Jewish Education and Music from Hebrew College, a bachelor’s degree in Education from University of Alaska Fairbanks and has specialist certification in music education from George Mason University with her focus being Vocal and Piano Performance, Orff-Schulwerk and multi-cultural music, and certification in Early Education and Music. Her favorite aged student to work with is always the one in front of her.
