Teaching Philosophy: Fundamentals come before anything else. Once a musician has a solid foundation on an instrument, the learning can truly begin. After a solid foundation has been formed, I like to let the student decide what they would like to work on or learn. I of course do my best to guide students in the right sort of direction, but ultimately what the student wants to learn is what truly matters.
Get to know Roland
My name is Roland Burnot! I'm originally from Hillsborough, NC but I moved to Greensboro in 2019. I'm currently attending UNCG hoping to complete my Undergraduate in Jazz Studies. I've been playing saxophone and clarinet since I was 12. My musical roots date all the way back to 2008 when my father showed me GO by Dexter Gordon, I was hooked for life. Hearing other saxophonists like Charlie Parker and John Coltrane have inspired me to become the best musician I can be and I hope to pass that on to every student I can.
