I am Russ Solomon, I’ve been a drum instructor for over 30 years and I am also a board certified music therapist. 

I’ve helped hundreds of people at just about every age experience the joy of making music through drumming.  

I think that learning to play the drums should be enjoyable and that you should walk out of each lesson being able to do something that you couldn’t before, a new skill or ability. You should come away each time feeling happy and inspired. 

My philosophy is to keep the lessons light hearted but I take learning very seriously so you can develop your skills and play with confidence in a relatively short amount of time. You’ll start off learning the proper technique so that you get a great foundation that we can keep building on.

I know that we all have busy lives, so I am going to teach you how to get the most out of every time you sit down to practice, even if it is just 5-10 minutes per day. You don’t have to spend all of your free time practicing to get good quickly. So you’ll learn how to practice efficiently and without struggling so you can actually enjoy it. If you know the right way to practice you’ll make massive progress quickly, make sense?

I teach out of my own book where I start with the basics of drumming and rhythm and learning how to read music if you don’t already. Then I personalize it for you by using the music you love. Rather than practicing boring exercises, we will actually take your favorite songs and use them as teaching tools and you’ll learn to play them. That’s what keeps it fun and motivating.
