Performance Experience: Ryan has performed extensively as a chamber and orchestral musician. He has been a part of dozens of orchestras and ensembles large and small. Ryan has performed in 16 states and four countries. His performances range from street performing to playing Mahler Symphonies at Carnegie Hall.
Teaching Experience: 14 years experience teaching violin and viola to all ages, all levels of play, and many diverse styles of music. Solo, chamber music, orchestral, and everything in between!
Teaching Philosophy: Ryan first assesses individual students wants and needs. Then he tries to strike a balance between educational rigor and skill development, and just having fun playing music. Ryan believes music should be fun, enjoyable, challenging, healing, and enlightening.

Get to know Ryan Foley

Ryan began playing violin at 4 and viola at 13. He took lessons through the Suzuki school and has extensive experience in many different pedagogical methods. He have taught all levels of play from beginner to conservatory level, and all ages. Music is Ryan’s life and my passion, and he loves passing that gift on to his students. When Ryan is not practicing or playing music he can be found exercising, gardening, taking long walks with his dog, Honey, and going on adventures with my wife, Brooke.
