Teaching Experience: I have taught privately since 2022. Prior to finishing my degree, I student taught at Oakdale-Bohemia MS in Connetquot CSD, where I taught Band and General Music. My public school teaching experience includes teaching Band and Music Theory at Mineola HS, Band and Jazz Band at Mineola MS, and Band and General Music at East Islip MS.
Teaching Philosophy: My aim is to make music something my students will feel successful in, something they know they CAN do and something they can just have fun doing!
Get to know Ryan Sojka
Hi! My name is Ryan Sojka and I am pleased to have been a woodwind instructor for Music & Arts since 2022. I have given private lessons to students of all ages and have also taught music in public schools at the elementary, middle, and high school level. My "why" for teaching is rooted in the concept of making music something that my students will feel successful in -- my goal is for my students know that music is something they CAN do, as well as something they can just have fun with! I'm really looking forward to sharing my love of music with you all!
