Education: B.A. in Music Theory and Performance, 5 College Consortium Certificate for Ethnomusicology

Performance Experience: Olivet Baptist Church, Bugatti Bunch Jazz Octet, Sound Designer for Subira vs Movement dance company

Teaching Experience: In addition to teaching original compositions to ensembles, Sam has taught afterschool lessons at a variety of elementary schools in the D.C. metro area.

Teaching Philosophy: Focus on developing the skills and tools needed for students to create their own musical voice. Allowing students to begin exploring music independently and using it as a vessel for their self-expression. It takes time and work but stick with it and the payoff is a lifetime of sonic exploration and fun.
