Get to know Sandy
As a child of 12, I was given a recording of Chopin's "Greatest" Pieces. It was a pivotal point in my life and immediately launched me into the world of classical music via the piano. Although a late starter, I was awarded "Most Outstanding Piano Player" at middle school graduation. I continued my studies throughout high school and then earned my B.A. magna cum laude and subsequently my master's degree.
I have enjoyed teaching for over 30 years and keep it "fresh" by continuously reinventing myself by expanding my piano repertoire to include many new and interesting pieces that my students will enjoy.
I use incentives and rewards as motivational tools, as well as online games and apps to enhance note recognition and keyboard placement. Each student is unique and my years of experience have enabled me to adapt to each student's individual style of learning.
