Teaching Experience: 43 years teaching experience in both private and classroom settings for a variety of ages from beginner to advanced. Private music instruction included recitals and summer music camps with larger numbers of students.
Teaching Philosophy: I adapt my teaching and materials to the individual student, depending on which way the student best takes in the information: visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, and combining methods so students can learn most easily.
Get to know Sara Spear
I am originally from Florida and have worked the Florida State University School of Fine Arts. I have performance experience in a variety of venues and have lived and worked in the Raleigh area since 2004.
I assist students to prepare for out-of-studio performances if desired, and incorporate other musical interests into their lessons.
I teach all varieties of music, including jazz, world and classic music. Music history classes are always included as part of my curriculum.
