Performance Experience: 8 years performing various styles of music in a professional capacity, including pop, rock, folk, jazz, funk, opera, and musical theatre - Currently singing her second season with the Columbus Symphony Chorus - 3 years with WMU's award-winning flagship choral ensemble, University Chorale - 1 year with WMU's pioneering vocal jazz ensemble, Gold Company

Teaching Philosophy: It is my firm belief that there is educational and artistic value in all genres of music. All styles of singing, from opera to pop to metal, can be performed with vocal technique that is healthy and sustainable. It is my responsibility as a teacher to not only teach music that engages, challenges, and excites my students, but to give them the tools and techniques they need to maintain the health and quality of their vocal instruments for the rest of their lives.

Get to know Savannah Gonsoulin

Savannah is a recent graduate of Western Michigan University. Though the majority of the formal training she received as an undergrad vocal performance major was geared towards opera and classical choral singing, her professional experience also includes musical theater, vocals for rock, folk, funk, and jazz groups, and even free improvisation! Currently she sings lead vocals with pop/rock cover groups The Big Badd and Bluewater Kings, as well as with the Columbus Symphony Chorus.
