Teaching Philosophy: I always make sure that my students learn new skills for life and on their instruments. Music can be the gateway to finding one's passion, and it is my job to help them find that passion and nurture it. Music should be fun, and although it can be hard work, that does not mean that you should not be able to enjoy what you are doing. One of my main points in teaching lessons is, "We will have to play the standard repertoire, but we can also play things that you (the student) find fun and exciting.

Hello, My name is Sebastian Mijangos Plazas. I am currently a Music Education student at Georgia State University. I primarily play the flute and have been studying it under the direction of both Sarah Ambrose and Jessica Petrasek. I have also played many other woodwind instruments, such as the Oboe, at a professional level for quite some time now. I have performed with some great ensembles, such as the Georgia State Wind Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Georgia State Panther Band, and more. I love music of all kinds and I am always willing to learn and grow while helping others do the same.
