Get to know Stacey Houghton
Stacey Houghton has been a professional musician in the Atlanta area since 1992 on woodwind instruments (clarinets, saxophones, flutes, recorders). As a music educator, he currently serves as the Director of Jazz Studies on the music faculty of Clayton State University, a position he has held since 1997. He has also served at Georgia State Perimeter College (formerly Georgia Perimeter College) and the Georgia Academy Of Music. Mr. Houghton continues to maintain a successful private teaching studio of students on woodwind instruments and jazz studies for all ages and levels of ability. His classical instruction often includes coaching for the Georgia All-State Bands and Jazz Bands, and preparation for college entrance auditions. He is a specialist in jazz and popular styles of playing, including studies in improvisation. Mr. Houghton frequently serves as clinician, guest soloist, and composer/arranger for many school jazz ensembles of all levels.
