Teaching Experience: Steph earned her BA from George Washington University in 2021, where she completed pedagogical training as a peer tutor and led sectionals within the GW Orchestra. She taught lessons remotely from 2020 to 2022, and is excited to teach in-person at M&A. As a woodwinds instructor, Steph guides students in developing embouchure, breath support, positive practice habits, and extended techniques. She enjoys introducing her students to improvisational styles and approaches across instruments.
Teaching Philosophy: Every developing musician’s artistic voice is inherently unique and valuable. I seek to foster open, collaborative lessons that help musicians express themselves clearly and authentically. My hope is for my students to leave each lesson feeling confident in their own potential and excited to continue their musical growth! Music is ultimately a form of communication, and I support my students in effectively conveying musical ideas across a variety of genres and musical styles.
