Teaching Philosophy: My lessons are structured around music theory, and I often use a keyboard to illustrate chord structure, intervals and scale patterns. I pair this approach with the individual student’s current experience, and believe it is important that my students grow in confidence and pedagogical experience. Muscle memory, repetition, consistency and momentum are phrases that are frequently used in my studio.
Get to know Steve Organek
Steve Organek has been performing music professionally since 1985, and has served as a public school music teacher since 1996. Steve graduated cum laude from The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam after nearly two years as a touring musician, playing twenty-five states in the Northeast, Midwest and as far south as Brownsville, Texas. He is the past-president of the New Hampshire American String Teachers Association (NHASTA) and has presented at the 2010 National ASTA Conference in San Jose, California, and as a clinical assistant for the 2019 Florida Music Educators Conference in Tampa, Florida. Steve’s specialty is orchestral studies, and performs locally with several groups, playing lead guitar, bass and keys. Steve also performs as a solo guitarist for weddings and private events.
